Dover’s to the PBC Championship Weekend

06 Nov

We have had such an amazing ride following North Georgia soccer this year. It has been a real dream come true to actually watch Emily and Whitley play together on the soccer field at the college level. Having them follow their older sister Ashley to such a wonderful school (North Georgia) for a great education and then having them become team mates tops it off. Emily, who is a Junior, has been shined more on the field this year, but Whitley’s time will come next year. But, Whitley has played great in a limited role in the pitch. She has been a great support to her sister and team.

After the very intense game and win in Round 1 versus Georgia College and State on Tuesday, we were headed to the Peachbelt Fall Festival for the Final Four. North Georgia (#4 seed) was going up against Armstrong Atlantic (#1 seed in PBC and #8 in the country) and we came out and thumped them. Now we get a rematch with Columbus State in the Championship Game. We are looking to win this thing and then head to the NCAA Tournament. Go Saints and Go Emily and Whitley!!

25th Wedding Anniversary

20 Mar

Kim and I spent the day on Friday (3/19) at Atlantic Station catching a moving and lunch. We ended up back at the hotel (The Ellis in Atlanta) for dinner and a nice evening. I love my wife and am a blessed man for having her.

Well, here’s proof I guess! My grandfather was a murderer! Look at the picture, the last attachment that says family, and you will see the striking resemblance to my Dad! WOW!

Apparently, my Grandfather killed a 77 yr old well loved grocer for $40 to buy his 2 kids from another marriage Christmas presents. He was executed, I think hung? You can read the different articles about it….very interesting!

The attachments are newspaper articles I found recently after searching for information for years about the death of my biological father. I don’t have any recollection of him at all. You probably have heard me talk about him to the extent that I knew. I found out about this accidentally at age 13 or so and I ahve always been curious. I thought it was only right that you should have some knowledge of this. Dad (my step dad, Bill Reynolds) adopted Tommy and me in an effort to protect us from the shame of knowing about this. It doesn’t bother me at all. He left Mom a couple years befor this happened and married someone else. He had two other children and that was his excuse for doing what he did. Mom remarried in 1947 before Fram did this crime. Interesting that back then the newspapers didn’t make a big deal about executions. You’ll have to look hard to find each article. In the photo, Fram is holding me and Tommy is in the buggy. My Grandmother and Mother are at the top and are on the left. I don’t know Jeff’s email address if he has one so if you will forward this to him. Love to all, Dad

Thank you and I love you

Hey Mom and Dad,

I just wanted to send you an email just letting you know how much I appreciate all that you do for me.  I know that sometimes I don’t deserve some of the things ya’ll do for me and that I take it for granted sometimes but it was really brought to my attention how much you both do for me and, although I’m on my own somewhat, I still depend on you both a lot.  I am very fortunate to have both of you as parents and I couldn’t ask for anyone better.

Anyway, that’s all I really wanted to say…Thank you and I love you!
